Hello everyone!

Thank you all so much for joining the Eyes Open Creative Photography e-course! I am so thrilled and honored to have you here.

Here is a little bit about how this course will work....

Login Page for Participants: This is the most important link you will need throughout the entire course. The login page is HERE. The password is “EOJAN16"

After logging in, it will bring you to a page that will display all the information for each week. Right now, you will not see anything because week 1 has not been posted. On the start of the course (October 3rd) I will post all the information for week 1 on that page, and continue doing so for each consequent week on Sunday nights/Monday mornings.

You will receive an e-mail notifying you of the posting.

Weekly Lessons: The weekly lessons will be the bulk of the information of the course. They are posted in a blog-like format (link will be posted to the login page each week) which means you can comment on them. In addition, the weekly lessons are available in the PDF e-book available for download on Dropbox.

Dropbox: To download the entire e-book which is a compilation of all the lessons for the entire course, you will need a Dropbox account. I will send everyone a link to download the e-book at the start of the course.

Flickr group: The Flickr group is a fantastic tool that I hope you all utilize!! If you are feeling a bit shy, please don't hesitate to just be an observer! It's a private group designed just for the participants of this course. You will be invited to share your photos, start discussions, ask questions, and get to know the other members of the course! All of the group info is on the Login page, including a Flickr How-To for any of you that may be unfamiliar with Flickr. Again, please don't hesitate to e-mail me with questions! I recommend you get a Flickr account set up before the course starts if you plan on joining in. Please only post 3 of your top photos a day to ensure I have enough time to leave feedback on everyone's photos.

Videos: Each week there will be a video that corresponds to the lessons we cover. You are not required to watch them, but they add another element to the learning. They will be posted on the weekly postings as well.

Photo Challenges: The photo challenges are completely optional, but so very fun!! You will find them included in the weekly e-mail as a PDF. They relate to the lesson of the week and give you some ideas when you go out to shoot. You don't have to do everything on each photo challenge sheet...pick and choose! These are great to add to the Flickr group for critique!

Guest Contributors: We have some pretty amazing contributors lined up for this course! Each week an inspirational photographer will share a bit about themselves and their work, so don't miss it! The link will be on the weekly pages.

Also, want to recommend a fabulous and cheap (considering photographic equipment!) lens that will completely transform your work! It is the 50mm 1.8f and runs between $120-130. I recommend buying from B&H Photo and Video. If you have any questions about this lens, let me know!

Okay! That just about covers it! Once the course is up and running, you will see how it's formatted and have an easier time navigating than reading all this text. But if you have any questions, please e-mail me or text 207.380.5385 for an (almost) immediate response.

I'm looking forward to sharing the next 6 weeks with you!
